Re: Hand foot and mouth disease

According to the CDC the "Hand foot and mouth disease" is very contractible and dangerous to children. I don't know much about treating it, but one way to prevent contracting it to your children is to avoid skin-to-skin contact, thoroughly wash everything you use including clothes, sheets ...

Re: Using crutches creates new pain elsewhere

I think you might be using them a bit wrong. As I uderstand from what you are saying, you're leaving all your weight on your armpit to move around. You're supposed to use the handle of the crutch, the one that you hold with the palm of the same hand to navigate the crutch around. By pressing down on...

Re: How to remove a lacerative speck

If by laceratice specks you mean those little grains of dirt that get into our eyes, then what you can do is take some eye drops, move your head to the side so that your affected eye is above and your other eye is below. Lightly lift the eyelids and drop some droplets onto the eyebulb from the end o...

Re: Remedies for hypothyroidism?

I don't know about remedies, but here's a story that might help. I knew a girl who had hypothyroidism all her life, and was on thyroid hormone replacement therapy (the thyroid pills). A few yars ago her physician realised that her liver has beginning to give out because of the therapy and so she had...

Re: Does obesity contribute to my pain?

Well, it's always best that we take the strain off of our affected joints, and the joints that are more affected by extra weight are usually the hips, the knees and the lubar region . Some doctors don't bother to mention it to people who have diffuse osteoarthritis etc in every joint, because it wou...

Re: Does pain raise blood pressure and heart rate?

Pain itself can increase blood pressure, even if you don't take any medication for it. Basically pain is a stress stimulus , that activates brain circuits responsible for instinctual survival (this is part of what we call the sympathetic system). From an evolutionary stance, pain is intepreted by th...

Re: Painful swollen Taste buds

Sounds like a thrush. No one really perscribes anything for a single thrush, unless you have a severe yeast infection going on there or have some kind of immune deficiency issue. Consult with your doctor anyway, just to be on the safe side, but I've seen good results with rolling a gulp of alcohol a...

Re: Pain in throat while swallowing?

Sounds like an infection of the tonsils and the pharynx. Usually these tend to go away within 3-4 days at most on their own, but you should get some anti-inflammatory meds just to subside the irritation to enable yourself to feed and drink properly. You'll need to drink lot's of fluids, but mostly w...

Re: Arm numbness

It's propably the position you sleep in, otherwise your arm would go numb during the course of the day as well. You might be more prone to numbness than others if you have a large skeleton build.

Re: Teeth pain from braces readjustment

First I tried to only munch on soft things to get used to chewing again, because I wanted to eat solid food again. Meds didn't really do anything for me. What I did was to drink really cold water and keep it in my mouth to really let the cold sink in. Another thing was to take one gulp of an strong ...
