How long will it take to close the hole after a pulled teeth?

Postby jeet » Mon Oct 31, 2016 4:00 pm

one of my friends teeth was extracted a month back as it was broken during an accident and the hole from it is still open!. My question is how long does it take to close/heal the hole?

This is quite common even when getting wisdom teeth pulled. Under normal conditions the gums should start to heal within a couple of weeks to maybe a month. If it hasn't started to heal by then, I would go back to the dentist and have it checked out to make sure things are ok.

It takes about 6 weeks for the jaw bone and gum tissue to repair itself following wisdom teeth extractions. This time may vary depending on if the wisdom teeth were impacted in bone or in gum tissue.
