What is High BP? - High blood pressure (hypertension) is a situation of high pressure (tension) in the arteries, which leads the vessels that take blood from the heart to the remaining body.

You will find just two forms of high blood pressure.

Primary (essential) hypertension -

For many, there are no identifiable reasons behind high blood pressure. Such a high blood pressure, called primary (essential) hypertension, tends to develop slowly over a long time.

Secondary hypertension -

Many people have high blood pressure due to an inherent illness. Medicines and various illnesses may lead to secondary hypertension, including:

Obstructive sleep apnea
Kidney troubles
Adrenal gland tumours
Thyroid issues
Specific defects in blood vessels you are born with (congenital)
Specific medicines, including birth control pills, cold remedies, decongestants, over the counter pain relievers and some prescription drugs
Prohibited medications, like amphetamines and cocaine
Alcohol abuse or long-term alcohol use

What's "Normal" Blood Pressure?

Standard: Less than 120 over 80 (120/80)
High blood pressure in individuals over age 60: over 150 and above 90 and above
Individuals whose blood pressure is above the average range should consult with their physician about measures to take to lower it.

Who's are Prone To High Blood Pressure?

People who have family members that have high blood pressure
Smokers
Pregnant girls
Women who take birth control pills
Those who are fat or overweight
Those who are inactive
Those who drink alcohol excessively
Those who eat a lot of fatty foods or foods with an excessive amount of salt
Folks that have sleep apnea

Lifestyle changes needed to take care of high blood pressure

Regardless of what drugs your doctor prescribes to treat your high blood pressure, you will have to create lifestyle changes to reduce your blood pressure.

Your physician may recommend several lifestyle changes

Working out consistently
Stopping of smoking
Restricting the quantity of alcohol you drink
Keeping a healthy weight or losing weight in the event you are fat or overweight

This is one of those things that you would think you only get when you are older. But I guess that is not the truth. You can get high blood pressure at any age if you are not careful with your diet and if you don't get enough exercise.

Yes ! It’s true Lifestyle having an important role in managing your high blood pressure. you control your blood pressure with a healthy lifestyle successfully , also reduce the need for medication.
But, generally blood pressure does not show any symptoms. So, for better prevention we must follow healthy habit like preventive health checkup.
