Drying eye aches like bruised

Postby corzhens » Tue Jun 14, 2016 11:09 pm

Some years ago, my husband had been complaining of his right eye. There was pain like he has a black eye. And the pain usually is felt in the morning when he wakes up. Since his grandfather had eye problems and was blinded before he died, my husband was kind of scared so he had the volition to consult and ophthalmologist by himself.

The eye specialist even joked that the wife might be hitting the eye when he was asleep. But seriously, it is drying eyes that is not a unique case. He was prescribed artificial tears (which is kind of expensive). When he wakes up with pain in the eye - it usually the right eye and the left eye aches only occasionally - he would use the eye drop, one drop on each eye will instantly relieve the pain.

He needs to drink more water and less soft drinks. If your eyes are producing enough natural tears, then time to refill the back supply. I have the same condition and it's the reason why I drink at least 1 gallon of water a day. Your husband might also have allergies. It probably an allergic reaction, possibly from dirt, dander, and pollen.

I have the same condition and use artificial teardrops at least a few times a week. Joshposh you are 100% accurate with the water indication. I can almost immediately feel my eyes are more dry when I haven't had my usual daily intake.
Allergies doesn't help. I live in a farming community where twice a year I can barely see out of my eyes because of my allergies. It just gets worse and worse.
Only thing that helps are the artificial tears and allergy medication.

They are good but just be careful......I have found them to scratch softer paint like that on my old Civic.

I try to use a drying aid from now on when drying aid to help prevent scratching.
