What are the Symptoms of Detached Retina?

Postby Louis » Fri Dec 09, 2016 4:29 pm

Retinal detachment happens when the thin liner in the rear of your eye known as the retina starts to pull from the arteries that supply nutrients and oxygen to it. Without prompt treatment, it is going to cause blindness in the eye that is affected.

Warning symptoms and signs -

Most individuals will experience warning signs that signal their retina is at risk before they lose their vision of detaching. Included in these are:
A cobweb effect of tons of small floaters – one big black floater which resembles a housefly is reported by others

Symptoms of a retinal detachment as well as a retinal tear can range from the following:

A sudden upsurge in number as well as size of floaters, suggesting a retinal tear could be happening;
A surprising look of flashes, that could function as the initial phase of a retinal tear or detachment;
Seeing a gray curtain
A sudden drop in your eyesight.

This is why it is so important to get your eyes checked on a yearly basis. This is something I have heard of before and became very concerned about. You only have one set of eyes so it is best to take care of them.
